Description
Enjoy the benefits of whole body vibration using the LifeSpan VP1000 Vibration Plate. Its dual-motion design encompasses an up/down pivoting system and a secondary front/back pivot. The result is a multi-dimensional platform movement that enhances the benefits you'll receive from whole body vibration, including improved muscle strength, balance and flexibility. In addition to standing in an upright position, there are many other uses of the vibration plate to increase your physical activity and improve your strength, including calf stretches, lunges, squats, pushups, sit-up twists and tricep dips. Assembly is required. How It Works Whole body vibration is achieved by being on a platform that vibrates at a high frequency, causing your muscles to contract and stretch to maintain balance without your brain being actively involved. The rapid involuntary reflex intensifies even the simplest exercises. This fast repetition of your muscles reacting along with the controlled low impact to the bones creates the growth and strength. The platform's design provides multi-directional vibration, with movement up and down, side to side, and front to back. Enhance your workout routine with the VP-1000. The primary use of a vibration plate requires that you simply stand on the vibration plate in proper position while the vibration plate moves. Duration and frequency are important elements to consider in using a vibration plate. If you're physically fit, vibration exercise sessions should last no more than 15 minutes. If you're just beginning an exercise program, limit your time to 10 minutes per session. Whole body vibration should be used 2-3 times a week to supplement your cardiovascular workouts, with adequate time in-between sessions to recuperate. About Whole Body Vibration Vibration technology is relatively new to the fitness industry but the technology was developed in the 1960s for Russian cosmonauts to prevent muscle atrophy and loss of bone density due to the lack of gravity in space. This proven technology is now used by elite athletes, those rehabilitating from an injury, and those interested in expanding their exercise regiment to take advantage of the health benefits achieved by using whole body vibration. Reviews
I purchased this Vibration Plate about a month ago and so far I am pretty happy with it. It is big enough to be sturdy, and small enough so it doesn't fill the entire room. It provides a very good complement to my work-out, and it is extremely easy to use. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that the assembly instructions were HORRIBLE. Very important steps in the assembling process were missing from the manual, so I had to call customer support to find out how to continue. Even so, I assembled it by myself in about 2 hours. So, do not trust the manual and you will be just fine.
I like the machine but I have nothing to compare it to. However, I wrote the company about a small problem; a section of the top pad was not glued down: THEY DID NOT ANSWER. I could not find a local machine to try first. All of the gyms in my area did not know what I was talking about. A natural health "expert" is recommending an expensive power plate in a newsletter I get. People who have tried mine are either impressed (exercisers) or confused (non-exercisers).
I waited a year to purchase this vibration plate and finally decided to go ahead after recent studies concluded the effectiveness of such training. Frankly, it's been a great incentive to exercise simply because it just feels so good! I start out my sessions just standing on it and it literally wakes up my body and I go through my routine with enthusiasm. I can't tell if it's given me extra muscle and bone mass, but the fact that I WANT to exercise with it may be meeting my goals anyway. Sadly, the cellulite seems to stick around and enjoy the workout, too, but I'm ever hopeful that it may eventually give up and go away. Anyway, after over two months of use, I'm still enthusiastic about this purchase.
"I purchased this product thinking "WOW" it looks like it has a good review standing. I researched many vibration plates and this one was what seemed to be a great cost, product and warranty, if anything should happen. Well not so! The product arrived late, The product is damaged, they want a 20% restocking fee to return a product that was sent damaged. WOW Great warranty don't you think!!! I am being penalized for a cruddy product! Try to get someone to return your call good luck. I received parts that are supposed to fix the machine since I cannot return the BROKEN product that was sent me without being charged, but no one will come and put them on, you call the number and no return call. I am stuck with a product that is not what they say it is VERY DISAPPOINTED! Go search for another vibration plate!!! " does not move in multiple directions only up & down. I have used other plates in the past and this one shakes too hard if you put it on a 15+ setting. The company did finally send me a replacement unit and I am still not happy with the unit I cannot believe I am stuck with a unit that was first sent and not working properly and then the second unit well it seems to be ok just not what I would pay $899 for again.....VERY DISAPPOINTED! Go search for another vibration plate!!! "
This a a very good product. I gave it a four star because the directions are not very good and I had extra parts that were not on the parts list or needed to be use. It will do the job. It came well packed and it is compact, but it has a big platform. I am trying to work on bone density.
